Return of Mim Spitney!

Well maybe not the return of Mim Spitney. I really can't promise when there will be another blog entry. I must prioritize and make sure mama gets a shower and some food and there just isn't a lot of time left over. So busy. No sleep. But we are enjoying our little boys so much. They will be 6 months in a couple of weeks. Henry is approaching 18 lbs and Charlie is almost 15. They have the cutest little personalities. They smile constantly. They fight over toys. Charlie is the worst. I call him the toy hoarder. I will give them several toys when they are laying down together and the next time I look, Charlie has moved them all to his side. He just smiles and Henry pouts. They are finally big enough for their jumperoos and bounce like there is no tomorrow. Charlie is rolling tummy to back and Henry rolls both ways. Henry still has superman strength, but Charlie is no weakling either! Who knows who will crawl first? Henry got his helmet (cranial band) removed a few weeks ago and has a super round head now! They are waking up 3 times per night. Yikes. Adam and I have resorted to each taking a baby and sleeping on different floors. This way we are woken up 3 times per night instead of 6! I will discuss the issue with the pediatrician at the next appointment but I don't really expect any good advice. They don't even nap that well. Harrison however still takes his 3 hour nap, woo-hoo! Which is a big help. They are eating solids 3 times per day. Charlie of course eats the food slowly and delicately and gets distracted easily. Henry inhales his food, shoving his hand and bib in his mouth to get every extra morsel in between bites. He eats loudly saying "yummm, yummm, nom nom nom". It really is the cutest thing. They will hold hands while they eat. Henry is loud. His cry is deafening. His happy yells are deafening. And you can just barely hear Charlie's polite little whimpers. They are as different as can be but still equally sweet and cuddly. They are truly the most beautiful 3 boys I could imagine.

I am so thankful for our nanny Mary Anne. She is here 5 hours per day and during that time, Harrison and I can get a little mommy/son time. I take him with me grocery shopping, which he loves (carosel, balloon, stickers, toys- whats not to love?) We spend a lot of time just the 5 of us hanging out too. Although I could take care of these 3 angels alone, they are just better taken care of with an extra set of hands and I am so glad we could make that happen!

Harrison has a playground in the back yard now. He can't get enough of it. I enrolled him in his Tumbles class again and there is a soccer class included this time. Can't wait to see how that goes! He was so excited today at tumbles. He was running around screaming "THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!" He wouldn't do anything he was supposed to. When everyone gathered around the circle, he sat in the middle. He is so funny. He has a great sense of humor and loves to be the center of attention. He tells us he loves us a lot and says the cutest things that will melt your heart. But of course he is in the middle of the terrible twos and displaying all that behavior too! He is showing a big interest in firemen and fire trucks these days and says he wants to be one. He is moving to his big boy room upstairs soon. We ordered him a castle bed with a slide and I am decorating with a construction theme. He is so pumped, he can barely stand it! He has been memorizing all his books (impressive since we have over 300!). He counts to 13 (then it goes to "eleventeen") and is learning his capitals. He talks constantly and is quite the conversationalist.

Adam became a partner at the law firm as of January 1. His hours have been pretty good. He tries to be home by the time Harrison wakes up from his nap at 5. He also tries to work from home once every week or 2.

My life is the boys right now, so not much else to report! I am still having carpal tunnel issues in both hands and arms but its improving. I considered joining a gym but I just don't want to spend that time away from my cutie pies. I figure in 10 years, I will look back and be glad i spent the time with them and not at the gym! I am down to what I was before Harrison. I would need to lose another 5 to get to pre-twins, but I am feeling ok now about it. Oh the changes your body goes through post partum! But I am happy (will probably not feel this way come swimsuit season!) Harrison and I get out a couple times a week to have a date or run errands. I try to get out alone to have lunch with a friend once a month. And OF COURSE I must allow myself a monthly mani pedi and my hair done every 2 months. But other than that I am just a homebody and loving it! Adam and I also sneak in a date here and there. Adam is actively planning our next Disney trip for next November (yes, you gotta plan that far ahead!) I already have plans developing for the twins first bday and Harrison's 3rd bday (cowboy theme). We had a wonderful Christmas (6 celebrations total) and Harrison was super excited about Santa visiting. I am sure I am forgetting some important details of the past several months but thats my quick update! Hope to have time to write again soon....
