So behind!

I have been falling behind on the blogging. We decided it was time to get our stuff out of the other house, so we made the big move! And luckily we accepted an offer on the house a few days ago! We have been busy putting the finishing touches on rooms, hanging pictures, all that fun stuff! I am so happy to get settled as we have been in this house since April 4!

We went to Jackson's bowling party at Main Event last week. Harrison was in HEAVEN here! First of all the music was loud and he loves that. Then he was surrounded by little kids which he also loves (especially the ladies - Hailey!), and well there were balls rolling around everywhere so you just can't beat it! He even got to bowl. Adam won him a stuffed animal on the first try on the little claw machine - you know the one...I need to invest in those, I bet the owners make a fortune! Anyway, thanks for the invite Leandras!

Lori and cousin Kevin came to visit last week too. Harrison fed Kevin Cheerios so that he wouldn't be hungry and gave Lori multiple smooches. Lori and Kevin are getting married in March. Welcome to the family Lori!

My Dad and Terry were also in town recently so Harrison got to spend some time with Grandpa! Harrison had Roseola (I thought he had it before but apparently that wasn't it - this time it was for sure Roseala because he had the rash). He was a trooper though and felt pretty good despite it all and loved hanging with Gramps!

He is teething like CRAZY! One of the molars (tooth #10) has popped through and the others aren't far behind. He is biting absolutely everything. Adam and I have marks all over our bodies where he lunges at us and chomps! He reminds me of a little racoon or some other little cute creature that bites. He still isn't fond of walking and will only do it if we really push him to. Still amazing us with his vocabulary - "there it is", an attempt at "potpourri", "trash bag"...And he shouts "Manny!" at the TV in the mornings because he wants to watch Handy Manny. We cuddle up in bed first thing in the morning and watch Mickey Mouse Club and Handy Manny while I drink my coffee. Its the best!

Family Fun

This weekend, we spent some time swimming and hanging out at Bama's (Harrison's great-grandmother's). He got to play with Chandler and Luke! Harrison even gave Luke a sweet kiss.

Let's see new words this weekend...Bama, down, up, lion...He is getting better with the walking but still isn't too crazy about the idea! He took his first bubble bath on Saturday. Yesterday he picked up our home phone and I asked him if he was calling his girlfriend and he said PARKA! So I think Parker and Harrison are officially an item. He picked it up today and dialed and said Parka Parka again.

We went to our old house today to bring some more of our belongings over. We have almost all the little stuff but are planning to book the big move with the rest of our furniture this week. No buyer yet, but at least we will have our stuff all in one place and can finally get settled! I think all 3 of us need that.

Playmates

So Harrison finally met his first and only cousin Blaine! Now that Hayley and Logan are settled in and adjusting to life as Mommy and Daddy, we decided to pay them a visit! He seemed more interested in Blaine's toys, but when he was hanging with Blaine, he would touch him really gently and try to give him kisses. I can't wait until they are ages 1 and 2 when they can actually play together! We stayed at the Omni downtown in Fort Worth. If you ever visit, try it out. Its a beautiful hotel! And I think Harrison really likes staying in hotels. He was laid out on the king size bed snacking and watching cartoons. And he loved the view! Car trips are never fun with a baby but he slept for most of it, so it wasn't too bad!

We had a baby pool playdate with Stella last week and I made the mistake of putting the swim diaper on BEFORE the trip over there. Ooops! They aren't made for that! The result was pulling a wet baby out of a wet carseat upon our arrival. They both ended up just in their diapers in the pool (see the 5th picture), but oh well! Thats what being a baby is all about, right? You can run around naked and no one thinks anything of it! :) We also had a playdate with Parker. Parker plays a little hard to get with Harrison. Its the cutest thing ever. I think Harrison likes a challenge!

I met another nanny at the playground this morning. I wish I would meet more moms than nannies! Its so weird to have a conversation with what you think is a mom and then you find out its not their kid after all! Anyway, her little boy was 18 months and they go every morning so I think we will go meet up with them more often. And I guess I will learn about life in the Ukraine where she is from!

Happy Fourth!

Harrison managed to stay awake for the fireworks last night! Although he wasn't very impressed with them.

Our friends, the Leandras, came over. We suspected we might be able to see fireworks from our balcony because they have been shooting them off recently. We ended up having an amazing show! We had almost a 180 degree view of a dozen fireworks displays! They were still shooting them off when we passed out at 11:30.

Harrison was so excited to have Jackson (5 - almost 6!) and Hailey (3) over for a visit. We were showing Harrison pictures of Hailey the night before and he said her name twice! This morning we told him that she was on the phone and he kissed the phone. And apparently Hailey likes him too because she told her parents on the way home that Harrison was very handsome.

We also went to Great-grandmother Bama's house for swimming and hamburgers and hot dogs! Harrison had a blast in the pool. Except for a little swim diaper explosion incident, it was a great day! :)
